Here One Moment by Liane Moriarty
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book has a lot of characters &, if I let too much time pass between reading one chapter to another, I sometimes lost track & had to reacquaint myself. Beyond that, it’s an interesting meditation on how we live in awareness to death.
“It is only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on Earth and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up that we begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it were the only one we had.” —Elisabeth Kübler-Ross (497)
Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
An adult re-read of a childhood favorite, this book holds up! I could read it again immediately & underline something on just about every page. Just one quote for now:
“Will you play with me, Templeton?” asked Wilbur.
“Play?” said Templeton, twirling his whiskers. “Play? I hardly know the meaning of the word.”
“Well,” said Wilbur, “it means to have fun, to frolic, to run and skip and make merry.”
“I never do those things if I can avoid them,” replied the rat, sourly. “I prefer to spend my time eating, gnawing, spying, and hiding. I am a glutton but not a merry-maker.” (29-30)
Let’s play & make merry like Wilbur <3
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Even though I’ve seen every movie countless times through, I haven’t read the books since each first came out. I’m committed to rereading the series in 2025. Long live Harry Potter!
Ruthless Vows by Rebecca Ross

The power of words, young love & friendship, mythology & magic, & brave commitments to do what is right…
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Not my first time through, but it seemed like a good time to revisit the wild and wonderful kingdom of Aslan.
“‘Safe?… Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.'” (73)
The Story Collector by Evie Gaughan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Two very enjoyable stories, parallel & 100 years apart. I love the idea of collecting stories & want to see more of my life through that lens.
“‘If we lose our stories,’ he wrote, ‘we lose ourselves.'” (176)
What Does It Feel Like? by Sophie Kinsella
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Kinsella’s most autobiographical novel to date, I found the writing so evocative of the experience she describes. Keep going, Ms. Kinsella, please keep going!
The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
The more I get to know these characters, the more I love them. This series is gold.
“It’s the people, in the end, isn’t it? says Viktor. “It’s always the people. You can move halfway around the world to find your perfect life, move to Australia if you like, but it always comes down to the people you meet.”
Dedicated: The Case for Commitment in an Age of Infinite Browsing by Pete Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Initially, I wasn’t sure this was the book for me. The author writes primarily to “younger” people, & I am no commitment-phobe. However, I stuck with it & I’m so glad. His research is solid & I found something interesting in every chapter.
