What is Your Spiritual Gift?

Do you appreciate the insights you receive from personality assessments? Not fluffy magazine quizzes like “What’s Your Home Decor Personality?” but assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Enneagram Personality Test, and the Five Love Languages?

Psychologists and thought leaders have invested years of research into these typologies that can help us understand the unique individuals God created us to be. Knowing our various types can offer greater awareness on how we perceive the world, what energizes us, how we interact with others, how we give and receive love, and the strengths we share with the world.

If you’re a follower of Jesus, have you also taken a spiritual gifts assessment?

More on what spiritual gifts are, why they matter, and my spiritual gifts story on my friend Emily Rowntree’s blog. I discovered new insight through writing this piece that I’m excited to share with you. Hop on over to read the rest, and while you’re there, have a poke around. Emily writes about her spiritual gift of discernment and shares fascinating stories of how God has kept her on her toes.

    1. Interesting. I suppose it’s possible, though I’ve never had a significant variance over 30ish years of taking different assessments. The only time something else popped up was when I took one that included “craftsmanship” – and my writing definitely fits that gift. What’s your gift?

  1. Siv,
Another engaging post. Would you be ok with my sharing this article with the deacons? Our theme this year is 1Peter 4:10-11; they have done the assessment. The context and examples you share are clear and illustrative of your points. I think they would enjoy and benefit from your article. Thanks,
    Elaine
